Benefits

Accepted applicants will receive the following resources for free for the initial two months of your participation. The entire process should take no more than a month. Once accepted, you may immediately get to work with the support and resources of Alliance!

  • Personal office space, desk, chair and computer monitor alongside the OpenRain team.
  • Conference room for up to 10 people with projector and whiteboard space.
  • Snacks and drinks for you and your guests.
  • Internet bandwidth and wifi.
  • Advisement meeting every one or two weeks to check up on the status of your business.
  • Referrals to professional services necessary for normal operation of any business.
  • Network and guidance of Alliance members, accessed through mailing list.
  • Discounts on subcontracting services provided by OpenRain and other program members.
  • Sharing of staff talents, depending on the nature and needs of your new company.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Business plan, in writing.
  2. Bright leadership. (You.)
  3. Physical operation in the Phoenix metro area.
  4. An LLC, S corporation or C corporation with a Board of Directors (or equivalent group) on which we may formally serve. If you do not have a Board, we will help you create one. If you have not yet formed your company we can help during the creation process, though we cannot formally accept you until you have official legal standing. Your company must be American, but does not need to be formed in Arizona.

Application Process

  1. Sent us a note to inform us of your intent to apply.
  2. Email us an application consisting of the following documents:
    1. A brief cover letter summarizing you, your company, situation, needs, any other special requirements or circumstances surrounding your business, and how it will blend well with OpenRain. (No more than a page, please.)
    2. A business plan outlining the company vision, quantifiable goals, timeline, financial status and projections, day-to-day operations, leadership resumes and/or CVs, and brief staff bios.
    3. Public documents stating the federally-recognized status of your LLC, S corporation or C corporation, such as Articles of Organization, Operating Agreement and any other licenses, certifications etc. required for you to do business.
  3. Drop off (or mail) a hard-copy of your application packet.
  4. We review your documents and respond. Our goal is two weeks.
  5. Mind-meld with us on site to discuss your business.
  6. We'll decide and respond with a final verdict within one week.
